We are launching our biggest crowdfunder from the 1st of May in the run up to World Hunger Day on the 28th May! Our ambitious goal is to raise £40,000 – with £25k coming from online support and £10k from offline initiatives (more details below).
We are asking you to join MAZI this May to help empower marginalised 16 – 25 year olds with the right ingredients and skills to increase their confidence, improve their mental health and support them in finding opportunities.
Over the month we will be running lots of wonderful events across the city to raise awareness of the work we do, the need for small organisations like MAZI to survive and some funds!
You can also help by becoming our fundraiser for us by signing up on our Local Giving page! We have plenty of ideas for you and step by step guide to being an aMAZIng fundraiser!
Here is a list of the events alongside their sign-up/ticket links:
Thursday 8th May: Impact Report Launch event
The evening will be a celebration of the power of partnerships in driving meaningful change. We’ll be serving delicious canapés prepared in collaboration with the young people at the MAZI Community Kitchen, a one of on chat with a young person as well as hosting a lively panel discussion chaired by Lucy Bearn CEO of FareShare South West.
Saturday 10th May: MAZI March for Food Equality
Join the MAZI project as we MARCH TOGETHER from our community kitchen in Bedminster to College Green. We will be shouting together calling for the government to support a fair and equal food system for all!
We want to increase access to NUTRITIOUS food and reduce the barriers faced by the members of our community faced by structural poverty and health inequality.
Wednesday 21st May: MAZI’s Charity Dinner with Noor Murad at The Mount Without
We’re thrilled to have the wonderful Noor Murad — co-author of the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen series and author of her debut cookbook Lugma and food justice leader and Great British Menu winner, Josh Eggleton — lending their voice and creativity to help raise awareness of our work and the movement for food justice.
The event is supported by FED 303.
